Kim Tae-hyung (born November 19, 1973), more commonly known as Kim Carrier or Kim Carry is a StarCraft caster and former gamer who played Protoss.[1] Kim gained his "carrier" moniker for his fondness of the Protoss Carrier, while "carry" is derived from a term referring to a player who takes on a leading or instrumental role in League of Legends, another game of which Kim is a fan.[1]
Since debuting as a caster at the 1999 Tooniverse Progamer Korea Open for the Tooniverse channel, Kim has been a prolific commentator in the history of the OnGameNet Starleague (OSL) on OnGameNet (OGN) and, more recently, the SonicTV BJ Starleague (SSL). Kim casted the 10th SonicTV Starleague on Sonic TV (Afreeca) and OGN.
During his gaming career, Kim won the 1998 Season Battle.net season 3 ladder and was the first Korean ladder champion.[2]
As of late 2015, Kim has been streaming Brood War and other games on Afreeca and Youtube.[3]

Trivia
[edit]- Kim is known for the "Kim Carrier Curse," where his OSL champion predictions often endure defeat after being named.[4]
- In the post-KeSPA era, Kim was credited for encouraging JangBi's return to competition, including participation in the 9th SonicTV Starleague.[5]
- After a period of relative obscurity, it has been discovered that as of 2017, Kim has started working as a procurer in prostitution industry. [6] To further shock and dismay of many StarCraft fans, he even openly advertised his business as being run by a 'former starcraft commentator, "Kim Carrier"'.
