Strategy Update: Now With Tabs! (09-11-05)[edit]

The Strategy section has been overhauled! With Liquipedia always looking to expand its horizons we have decided to add two new Strategy sections. The first is the beginnings of a 2v2 Strategy section. With 2v2 being a hard scene to break into we thought it right to give it its own section in hopes that we can breath some life back into the foreign 2v2 community. In order to facilitate that we have also added a Big Game Hunters section which TL's own HNR_Insane has been gracious enough to lend his talents to. With BGH being such a huge part of SC its only natural that it would eventually find way into Liquipedia. And don't worry. There's no Fastest or Zero Clutter section coming. That would just be weird. Stay posted for new content.

Liquipedia Rising (09-10-21)[edit]

Liquipedia is back with a vengeance! With Plexa stepping down has Liquipedia head to concentrate on things TL side Aesop has stepped up to the plate to be our new fearless leader. In conjunction with our staff switch up we have started work on a whole lot of new projects to keep coming up with the highest quality content available for Starcraft users. Remember though, the strength of a wiki lies not in its staff but in its users. Make sure you keep contributing!

Stay posted for new content.

Workout Time (09-10-09)[edit]

The transcript of our Q&A is ready at: Liquipedia QnA Episode 1. Check it out for a great read on Mech TvZ. We have had several great initiatives on here: Foreigner profiles were added, after being tested in a User's profile. The first Leagues are shaping up, e.g. 2009 Bacchus OSL, 2008 Incruit OSL, 2008 Bacchus OSL. We even have a R&S like article on the recently started 2009 EVER OSL. A nice way to display brackets is in the works. Further news can be found on the TL frontpage.

Mech talked through (09-09-14)[edit]

The first Liquipedia Strategic Q&A has taken place. Get the MP3 here. Questions can be reviewed in this TL-thread. We have started transcribing the talk in Liquipedia QnA Episode 1, and you can help us to get it done! Just pick any topic that interests you, create a subsection marked by the times, and go ahead.

The event itself was insightful and entertaining at all times, so our thanks go out to the hosts Chill and Ver, as well as to the experts Artosis, Day[9] and Idra. Stay tuned for more episodes in future!

The Moment we've been waiting for (09-09-08)[edit]

It's all over the news: On 09-09-13, we will hold a liquipedia strategic Q&A on Terran Mech vs. Z. The main reason for this choice is that liquipedia is sorely lacking a section covering this important branch of the matchup. Be sure to tune in, be sure to ask questions beforehand in the TL-thread and be sure to edit what you learn into liquipedia!

Finally, Signups are still open and free (and will remain so).

Help a Buddy out (09-08-14)[edit]

Delivered as promised: The Liquipedia "How To" was released on Teamliquid.net. So if you are intimidated by the complexity of the Media Wiki, take your time to check out that article by cgrinker. On another note, there have been countless requests for adding a 2on2 Strategy section to this wiki. We are currently contemplating where to add it, but it's definitely on the to-do list.

If you are an avid 2on2 contributor, you are welcome to describe an exemplary 2on2 strategy - this would help us to get an idea, what 2on2 can look like and what it is capable of. Simply use your own user page to model it, and we'll integrate it later.

Finally, to our unknown heroes of editing: Signups are still open and free (and will remain so).

Help is on the way! (07-16-2009)[edit]

We know that there's some difficulty using MediaWiki. Don't worry though! We know you're all smart enough to figure it out by yourself!

Just kidding. We're currently working on something that should be of some use. Remember that if you need help you can find us on #liquipedia on quakenet irc! The rest of this news box is copied from last week not out of laziness, but to emphasize how important the following things are:

For work, we are looking to give the Maps a new starting page. Please help design them a nice front-face! A small request for all who add exemplary games: Please give a reason why the game is exemplary! How are you supposed to pick a game worth watching, if you don't get a tiny bit of information? Finally, we see Players getting along nicely, but there has hardly been any work on the Teams' history and status. You, with the red shirt, come and give us a hand! (And register please.)

Passing on the message (07-01-2009)[edit]

In case you didn't notice yet, we also placed some news on the TL.net frontpage. We explain what's been happening here and also interview two users. So go check it out!

Two New (06-23-2009)[edit]

Do you notice those three shiny new bullet points? Like to the left from here? Those are the new sections about Progaming, namely Players, Maps, and Teams. Have fun completing them! In case you plan to do more than one edit, please register. Only then can we tell you what we don't like about your edit, should we roll it back, and credit you, when you do wonders. So do it! Finally, we are glad that the Strategy section is receiving some attention. Especially Zerg are streaking (but also keep in mind the Terran Strategy Workshop).

One Week Review (06-15-2009)[edit]

Liquipedia was announced slightly longer than one week ago. Soon after, the url was released and edits started trickling in. By now, we have twice the number of content pages (nearly 600) and about 2000 pages in total. Players' section got running, the table is almost filled, resources have been updated. Some Player profiles are still lacking information though.

In the week to come, we want to focus on getting more Strategy Content updated and created. For that purpose, we will be adding race-specific discussion pages. Those have the sole purpose of brainstorming what to add and what to change in the existing guides. Enjoy your stay!

Old News

Power Overwhelming (06-10-2009)[edit]

We are overwhelmed by you all. The recent days have seen a flurry of activity, along with a pretty new frontpage design, and exceeded all our expectations. Soon we'll hand out the first promotions. To join in the fun, get on #liquipedia now! There is always a friendly bunch there, and editing while chatting is more fun. The Player section has received some work already, thanks to all the contributors. Write the bio of your favorite progamer and add him to the table! You can find some resources here. Questions go to Mikeymoo and Riptide. Please use the photos provided by NeverGG for this purpose.

3-2-1 Launch! (06-07-2009)[edit]

Liquipedia Launches!

Evolving from Team Liquid's renowned strategy forum, Liquipedia is a collaborative attempt at creating a Starcraft knowledge compendium. From the most up-to-date strategy information to unit and building details, ladder map overviews, and a list of third party tools, this wiki aims to be your one stop resource for everything SC related. Of course, there is a lot that's still missing, and that's why we need your help to develop and expand it further. The strength of a wiki comes from its users, so be sure to sign up and contribute right away. Good luck, and have fun!
