Mobius was released on July 8th, 1999 as Blizzard's Map of the Week.[1]

The name of the map comes from the Möbius strip.

It is intended to be played on Use Map Settings.

"Commander, I bring grave news...

We have been trapped in some form of space warp, and attempts to leave these narrow strips of land have all led to failure. Movement onto either the western or eastern edges of this landmass warps our forces to the opposite end.

Other unknown hostile forces appear to be trapped in this warp with us. Attempts to determine if one of these groups is responsible for the warp have all proved inconclusive.

At this point, the science team recommends an immediate attack. If the destruction of the hostiles does not free us, perhaps we can find a clue to our predicament in their wreckage.

Science team out."
