Jani Napoleon Kurkela is a Racepicker from Finland and is currently a member of Clan Revolution since the beginning of 2020.
Overview[edit]
Napoleon's career dates back to the year 2000. In the years since, the Racepicker has joined various high-profile teams, starting with the prestigious Scandinavian clan DSKY. He wasn't well-known for major tournament appearances, but was still one of the strongest players in both the individual and team ladders of the World Gaming Tour and the Progaming Tour in between 2000 and 2005.[1]
Kurkela gained international recognition when he began appearing frequently in clan wars as a representative of his team, Micro GamerZ. In the Fragbet League Season I the Racepicker had the strongest record of his team and managed to defeat two of the best international teams, the Czech Demolition Squad and Los Reyes Del Mambo, with an all kill. By the end of 2006 he was often called the strongest player in Finland.[2]
Between 2006 and 2009 Napoleon entered few tournaments and clan leagues, but he was never fully inactive. After the StarCraft II Beta, the Finnish appeared in bigger events once again. His experience and versatile play often enabled him to finish high in the few tournaments that he entered. However, he still played very little in individual tournaments and focused on 2v2 tournaments instead. Today he is one of the few players to have won more than a single Defiler Tournament.
