Biography[edit]
NonY went to Korea in 2008 and joined eSTRO.[1][2] Upon arriving in Korea, NonY soon participated in the Courage tournament[3][4] where he placed second[5], losing to kunio[alive] with 1-2. Despite doing so well in his first attempt at Courage, NonY soon left eSTRO and went back to the USA for personal reasons.[6]
Poker Strategy TSL[edit]
Due to placing 4th in the 2008 Razer TSL, in the 2009 Pokerstrategy.com TSL NonY was granted a Bo5 match against the first of the qualification ladder. The winner would qualify directly for the Starleague. NonY was matched up against IdrA, but lost the series 1-3. Due to a 3-0 victory over HoRRoR, he was able to secure a spot in the Ro16 where he faced and defeated Tarson 3-0. NonY went on to play IdrA once again in the Ro8 where he secured his revenge in a 3-2 victory over the CJ Entus player and a spot in the Ro4. In the Ro4, NonY faced off against the Canadian Protoss player and defending TSL champion IefNaij. NonY overwhelmed the defending TSL champion and secured a spot in the finals with a score of 3-1 over IefNaij. In the finals, NonY came face to face with the German Zerg Mondragon.
In the Bo7 series finals, NonY and Mondragon competed for $10,000 prize money and the crown of Poker Strategy TSL champion. The series started off with Mondragon taking down NonY twice in the first two games. After that, NonY regained the momentum by winning the next two games in the series and tied the series. Then, NonY took control and won the fifth game with an unorthodox and extremely exciting DT rush and the sixth game comfortably. NonY had defeated Mondragon in the series by a score of 4-2, won the $10,000 prize money, and was crowned the Poker Strategy TSL champion.
Facts[edit]
- eSTRO's headcoach kOs once said that NonY is really skilled and has a good playing style for a foreigner, but he still has many things to fix.[7]
