Othello was first seen in 2008, where it appeared in the Proleague, MSL and OSL simultaneously. The map favors Terran in TvZ, and is also seen as slightly imbalanced towards Zerg in ZvP because of the easily acquirable Third Gas and Third Base. Some positional imbalances also exist, due to the placement of Minerals. Othello was one of the four maps used in the 2008 Razer TSL.
Notable Features[edit]
- Cliffs - There are numerous cliffs throughout the map, including the natural and 3rd expansion. Hence Tank drops are very popular on this map.
- Narrow Opening Behind Natural - This only allows small units to pass through, also a popular area to build a Command Center.
