Description[edit]

Paradoxxx was premiered in the 2003 OnGameNet Dual Tournament 2nd Season, then used for the 2003 MyCube OnGameNet Starleague and 2003 2nd OnGameNet Challenge League. The updated version, Paradoxxx 2, was used in the 2003 3rd OnGameNet Challenge League and the 2003-2004 NHN HanGame OnGameNet Starleague. The 2007 Game Channel Derby - MBCGame vs OGN also featured the map in its games.

Paradoxxx was one of the last in the line of island maps. Despite the presence of a double gas main to aid Zerg, there still existed a massive imbalance against Zerg in ZvP. This map was played during an era where the strategy on island maps turned from air unit based play to drop based play. Groups of Shuttles and Dropships roamed the map, taking advantage of the large main's ample room to drop.

This map is most memorable for the game Boxer vs bluek (Joyo), 2003 MyCube OSL, where Boxer, at the last second, manages to kill the last of bluek's Carriers using Goliaths in Dropships.

Balance Changes[edit]

Paradoxxx 2 has differences in mineral placement in the main, as well as a small Mineral Only 'Expansion' in the main base.

Notable Features[edit]

  • Island Map - Every base on Paradoxxx is only accessible by air
  • Double Gas/Mineral Mains - Each main base on Paradoxxx has 2 Vespene Geysers and 14 mineral patches. This means that any builds on this map take into account the fact that the player effectively starts with 2 bases.
