Pure

Park "Pure" Sae Jung is a StarCraft progamer from South Korea who played Protoss for WeMade FOX.
He briefly played Protoss in StarCraft II for Jin Air Green Wings. Although no official notice was given, it is assumed that he has retired from professional play, as he began streaming Brood War on Afreeca in October 2013.[1]
Biography[edit]
One of his nicknames was "Pakse".[2] He passed Courage in February 2006.[2] He snagged the tenth place spot in the June 6th Power Rank in 2008.[3]
In the 09-10 Proleague season, Pure finished the first round with respectable stats of 3 wins and 4 losses including victories over Movie and Light. He qualified for the 2009 EVER OSL where he defeated both Hyuk and Leta 2-1 in the round of 36 to qualify. In the round of 16 he was placed in a group with ZerO, YellOw[ArnC] and Hwasin. Pure claimed victories over Hwasin and ZerO, leaving him with a 2-1 record. ZerO finished with a 2-1 record as well, and Yarnc entered the final day with a 1-1 record. Yarnc needed to defeat Hwasin to force a tiebreaker with Pure and ZerO. Yarnc managed to defeat Hwasin in the final game and forced the tiebreaker. Pure defeated Yarnc in the first match before losing to Zero in the second. Zero then defeated Yarnc, causing Zero to qualify 2-0, Pure to qualify 1-1 and leaving Yarnc knocked out of the OSL.
Pure was matched against Calm in the round of 8. At the time of the match, they had played each other 5 times, with Calm leading 4-1. The series started with Pure cannon rushing Calm's third hatchery on Eye of the Storm. Despite losing the Hatch, Calm seemed unphased and played a 2-Hatch Mutalisk build. Pure was completely unprepared for Mutalisks and conceded shortly after the harass started. In game two on El Niño Calm went for a low-econ fast 2-hatch muta build and took out Pure 2-0.
Pure had fewer appearances in the later rounds of the 09-10 Proleague. Despite being WeMade's best Protoss, he was not played for almost three months in 2010. Nevertheless, Pure showed good results in individual leagues, making the semifinals of the Korean Air OSL Season 1 with wins over Calm, Movie, and Fantasy. In the semifinals he was pitted against Flash, where he attempted three nexus-first openings in a row but ended up losing 0-3. Later in WCG 2010, Pure again showed strong play, beating Stork and Free before being stopped 1-2 against Effort. Pure's ability to remain composed under pressure may have been a key factor in why he was selected as WeMade's ace player twice during the Proleague playoffs.
Pure served in the military from November 2011 to August 2013, returning to Brood War on Afreeca soon thereafter.[4][5]
