Description[edit]

Introduced in Round 5 of the 2008-09 Shinhan Bank Proleague season, Shades of Twilight replaced Battle Royal in the map lineup. The map layout is nearly identical to that of Byzantium.

Notable Features[edit]

  • Low Ground Mains - The low ground mains lead to players moving up to their natural early on so they don't get contained at their ramp.
  • Easily Secured 3rd - The easy 3rd expansion tends to produce long macro oriented games.
  • Terran can wall-in at the high ground, so that the expansion is safely inside the wall too.
  • Cliffs behind natural and 3rd expansions - These areas allow for powerful air/drop-based harassment tactics.
  • Narrow high-ground areas - Control of these areas is vital for both defense and offense.
