If someone has a good idea for how to consolidate the sections so that "Transition I" and "Transition II" does not have to be repeated once per "Branch", please do so. I don't want to ruin the current format because I am not experienced enough with the formatting, and it doesn't make sense to have the same information repeated twice. Before my edit, the "Transition" sections were nearly identical, but one would have information that the other did not, so I combined them and replicated them. -- Jealous 00:30 EST, 6/25/2015

Hi, I have some problems replying to this.
About a year ago we tried to re-structure the strategy portals, and already worked over Terran Strategy. This page here is a left-over of what happened before we got to work. The article isn't wrong or features false informations, hence it was kept around as archive. The newer version of this page features less information and is designed to be understood by beginners. I agree that this version is confusing, especially with the Branches things.
It'd be interesting how you found this page in the first place, as it shouldn't be linked actively anymore. Did you find it via category, or is there still a link left over, we didn't find yet?

Build order structure[edit]

I believe that build orders should be ordered more along the lines:

  • 2 Factory
    • Variation 1
      • Cheese Variation of Variation 1
    • Variation 2
  • 1 Factory
    • Var 1
  • Fast Expand
    • Var 1

and so on to allow for more variations among the different builds and be more like chess openings. --Sublimis 21:52, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

Here is an example of what I had in mind. The idea is that the main level is determined by which major buildings are invested in first among (Factory, CC, several Barracks). The level below contains specific build order along the line of the main level and the level below that contains variations of the build order.

Note that the Flash build refers to a kind of meta-build and as such in reality is a collection of a variety of builds coming from either Siege Expand or 11 CC, for example. Comments are welcome.

fast expo[edit]

I'm not sure if this is the place to list builds. In any case, 29+supply natural expo is really late...if hes 2 gate powering and the natural is wide open fine, but its more than possible to get the CC up before starting siege, and on some maps as early as 21 supply--fusionsdf 22:27, 9 March 2009 (KST)

In case you got a variation, maybe just write a 2nd column next to the current one with the conditions you just described (similar to various PvZ fast expansions). Are Vessels actually part of the definition of metal vs protoss, or are they just something you add later on to support the metal? I would have said the latter, personally. Note that I didn't edit the whole page, as I have to go now D: HnR)Insane 08:56, 25 March 2009 (KST)

Strong FD[edit]

i think that the strong FD merits it's own header under openings as it is a soft counter to 14 nex and/or 2 gate goon and notable in that it does not suffer from taekwon dragoon to the extent that FD does.
