Overview

The second Torenhire Starleague, also known as the ThSL, is the second invitational tournament organized by the TL.net user Torenhire. The tournament participants were made up of a number of forum veterans with variances in skill that ranged from beginner to former progamer in caliber. The second tournament featured a new format with the intent of awarding seeds to those who advance far enough for future tournaments.

With the TeamLiquid Legacy Starleague occupying a majority of the previous production team's time, users Grobyc, SirJolt, and Shiroiusagi took up the streaming and content production of ThSL II.

Tournament Information

Format

The new Torenhire Starleague format is very similar to the old style OSL format, however the "PCBang Starleague" has been replaced by an invite system.

Stage 1 - Invites vs Seeds

24 invited players
12 lower-seed players from previous ThSL
12 sets of round of 4 single-elimination brackets where lower-seeds receive advanced placement into the final of each bracket.
Winner of each four-player bracket will advance to Stage 2 of the tournament.

Stage 2 - Group Pick Ceremony and Group Stage

Players advancing from Stage 1 will go into a player pool
The upper-seeds (top four) from the previous ThSL are pre-placed into groups. 1st Place in Group A (Player A1), 2nd in B (B1), 3rd in C (C1), 4th in D (D1).
The players will take players out of the pool and into their group in a predetermined order. A1 picks, B1, C1, D1, D2, C2, B2, A2, A3, B3, C3, D3. Four groups of four players each.
Best of 3 Round-robin procedure
Top two ranked players advance to Stage 3
Note: All players who make it into Stage 2 are awarded seeds for the next ThSL

Stage 3 - Bracket Stage

Eight-player single-elimination bracket
Best of 3 all the way up until semifinals, where it will best of 5 and onwards.
Top four will receive upper-seeds into Stage 2 of the next ThSL.

Prize Pool

Currently the prize pool is unknown, however Team Liquid user Shiroiusagi will be hand-making items for the first, second, and third placing players.
