Overview
[edit]The WGTour World Cup Season 2 was hosted by WGTour in Summer 2007. It was open for every nation's A-Teams and featured non monetary prizes sponsored by Qpad for the best three teams.
Format
[edit]Initially the best four clans of the nation wars ladder were invited: Russia, Spain, Poland and Canada. The first 32 teams to sign up were put into groups with four teams each. Every group featured nations in the same region, e.g. America featuring Mexico, USA, Venezuela and Colombia. The teams to advance first from the group stage directly qualified for the Knock Out Stage. The teams to finish as runner up of their group had a second chance. For their second chance they had to beat another second placed team of a randomly chosen group.
The twelve teams to qualify from the group stages were seeded into the grid according to their finishes, as well as the direct invited four nations of the WGTour Nation War ladder.
