Yamato Gun is an offensive spell cast by the Terran Battlecruiser. It fires an intense blast of concentrated energy at the target, doing 260 points of explosive damage. Note that the Cannon has a slightly longer range than the Battlecruiser's sight range, allowing you to destroy towers and other defensive structures from a safe distance. Use a ComSat or another unit to spot for your Cruisers. [1]
Use
[edit]In competitive play, the Yamato Gun is reserved to only the very late game.
TvT
[edit]In lategame TvT, if Battlecruisers are out when neither player can be broken, effective use of Yamato, sniping Tanks, Goliaths, Turrets and Battlecruisers, is pivotal to gaining position on your enemy.
TvP
[edit]Battlecruisers are rarely used in TvP as Psionic Storm is devastating. When Battlecruisers are used against Carriers, Yamato is critical to deal the damage as Carriers out-range the BC's normal weapons.
TvZ
[edit]If Battlcruisers are used in late game TvZ, Yamato is often research to snipe Defilers, Ultralisks and Zerg structures.
Cloning
[edit]Cloning is pivotal in BC vs BC fights. It optimizes the damage output of your Battlecruisers which, if even slightly done better than your opponent, will give you a sizeable edge in the fight. See Notable Games for some majestic Yamato clones.
In Combination with Other Spells
