Park "yongun" Yong Woon is a StarCraft coach from South Korea. He is most known for being the coach of SK Telecom T1 from 2008 to late 2012.[1]
He was the head coach of CJ Entus in StarCraft II.[2]
Brood War
[edit]Park Yong Woon initially wanted to be a progamer, and actually passed the entrance test for Pirates of Space, but was given a suggestion by that team's Head Coach to become a coach instead because of his age.[3] He did so with the thought of learning the secrets of the success of progamers and then becoming a progamer himself armed with that knowledge, but found that he actually liked being a coach. He stayed with POS, a team that became MBCGame HERO, for three years.[3] In 2006, he coached MBCGame HERO to a championship victory at the SKY Proleague Grand Final.
He joined SK Telecom T1 in 2008.[4] Upon becoming SKT's Head Coach, he established a number of changes to that team[3] that brought it from a period of decline to a period of dominance,[1] with SKT reaching the Proleague finals four years in a row.[5]
