The 2012 GSL World Championship was an event held at IPL 5, organized by both IGN and GOMTV, where a team of all-stars from South Korea took on top players from Europe, America and South-East Asia/Oceania in a team league format.
Korean players were chosen by GSL ranking. NaNiwa and Stephano were invited, and then the rest of the players for the rest of the world were chosen by popular vote,[1] followed by two qualifiers, one for Europe, and one for North America.
Format[edit]
The tournament consists in 3 rounds:[2]
- Round 1: 5 1v1 matches will be played between the two teams.
- Round 2: both teams will face off in an All-Kill Format team match.
- Round 3: ace match: one final 1v1 in best of 3 will be played if the score is 1 - 1.
