Chronology
The 2016 WCS Winter Circuit Championship will take place in the Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland. This event also doubles as IEM Season X - World Championship - the final event of the Intel Extreme Masters Season 10.
The Winter Championship is the first of three Circuit Championships to take place during the 2016 World Championship Series Circuit, followed by the Spring and Summer Championships.

- 8 players from Regional Challengers:
- 2 slots for Europe, Africa and the Middle East
- 2 slots for North America (USA and Canada)
- 1 slot for Latin America
- 1 slot for China
- 1 slot for Oceania, Southeast Asia and Japan
- 1 slot for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau
- 14 players from Server Qualifiers:
- 8 slots for EU Server Qualifier
- 6 slots for NA Server Qualifier
- 2 players from National Qualifier
- 8 invites from 2015 WCS Standings
