Afreeca Freecs
Won Joong Wook (원종욱)
Afreeca Freecs (in Korean, 아프리카 프릭스) is a top Korean StarCraft II team. It was previously known as StarTale, and temporarily as SBENU. As StarTale, it was originally founded by former acting coach of Pantech Curitel and former coach of WeMade Fox Won Joong Wook,[1] together with July and RainbOw.[2] The team originally comprised mostly former Brood War players, most notably the Golden Mouse holder July. They also have a Counter Strike: Global Offensive team and formerly had League of Legends and DotA 2 teams. In April 2015, StarTale announced that it would change its name to SBENU following a new title sponsorship.[3] In January 2016, SBENU stopped sponsoring the team, and the GSL broadcaster Afreeca picked up the team, which was renamed Afreeca Freecs.[4]
On November 21, 2016, it was announced that the team was disbanding its StarCraft II division.[5]
The team was reformed at the start of 2020.[6]
