Area 51 Gaming is a North American professional gaming organization that had a StarCraft II division that has since been disbanded.

History[edit]

  • Sent three players to the MLG Winter Championship in Columbus, Ohio, where the team had mixed results.
  • Removed B-team and reallocated roster positions.
  • Sent three players to the MLG Spring Championship in Anaheim, California, where the team again had mixed results again, but had hellokitty reach Top 8 in the United States Blizzard World Championship Series, earning him $525 and a flight to the MLG Summer Championship in Raleigh, North Carolina.
  • Introduced an academy team with the intentions to have the Academy closely work and train with the primary team. The academy's first entrants were the Terran players Nathanias and Grace.
  • Academy gets it's second entrant the Canadian protoss StealthyPoo better known as Poo
  • Two players, AnDa and TygA, qualified for WCS Canada with one of them finishing in the top twelve.
  • Had three players at MLG Raleigh, hellokitty, MaSsan, and Focus. hellokitty finished in the top 24 in the Blizzard WCS North American finals, and he reached his highest ranking in the open bracket by placing top 32. MaSsan's first time at a MLG got him all the way to loser's bracket round eight where he lost to asd, ending in the top 24.
  • Area51 Gaming closes its StarCraft 2 Division.
