Carnage eSports (cR), a well known Australian sponsored team for many FPS games such as Battlefield and Call of Duty, announced the addition of a StarCraft II division in March 2012.[1] Main sponsor Razer had suggested the addition of a SC2 roster and cR followed up on this request by appointing Nicolas "TAChadMann" Russo manager of Carnarge eSports SC2. The players are sourced from Australian players residing on the SEA server and sponsorship extends to both hardware and local offline event attendances.

Interestingly and as a first for SEA-based sponsored teams, Carnage announced a B-team in addition to its main roster upon revealing the team. This team served not only as a development team for future talent, but provides the team with contracted practice partners and the ability to field a large roster if the event requires it. Player choices included proven talent in players like EdgE and SenSei, lesser known performers from the SEA server, and many up-and-coming development players.
