Rori "CauthonLuck" Bryant-Raible (born November 27, 1983) is a retired American Terran player.

CauthonLuck originally played Night Elf in Warcraft III and occasionally topped the US-East ladder between 2002 and 2003.


After taking a long break from RTS games, CauthonLuck returned for the StarCraft II beta even going so far as to change his work hours to part-time to make space for playing.[1]

Beta Notes[edit]

As of the 13th of April 2010, CauthonLuck is positioned top of Division 13 of the US Platinum League, with a 83-23 (78.30%) record.[2]

CauthonLuck has also competed in four show matches sponsored by MLG in the StarCraft II beta. These matches were called MLG SC2 KotBH, where two players would face-off and the winner would move onto the next week. In the 5th iteration, CauthonLuck defeated IdrA 3-1 to take the crown. The following week he became the first player to win more than one event after beating Artosis 4-1. He claimed his third victory after defeating Orb 4-0 and his fourth by defeating TheLittleOne 4-0. His streak of 4 wins was finally ended by SLush who defeated him 4-0 in the 9th event. He was invited to the HDH Invitational where he has made his way to the round of 8 after defeating KawaiiRice 2-0. CauthonLuck has also been invited to the TeamLiquid SC2 Invitational 2.

CauthonLuck is also well known for his 11 Starport Cheese that he used against IdrA in the MLG showmatch.

  • Name comes from Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" fantasy series. Matrim Cauthon is one of the main protagonists in the series. As the story develops, he gains access to thousands of years of memories, which makes him an extremely skilled strategist and tactician. Additionally he has a supernatural luck whenever events are left to chance, which can often turn the tide of battles or dice games. Using these skills, he founds a large semi-mercenary outfit (The Band of the Red Hand) which has never lost a battle yet in the series.[Citation needed]
  • Was a competitive Super Smash Bros. Melee player maining Falco. One of his achievements is winning MLG Seattle 2004.[3]
