Lee "Choya" Hyung-seop (born August 8, 1988) is a Korean coach who last worked for MVP.

Wings of Liberty[edit]

Choya was one of the 8 invitees to the Gainward SC2 Tournament which began with 768 participants, where he was eliminated 1-2 by Kyrix.[1]

During the first GSL season in 2011, Choya was implicated in a scandal where he paused the matches at the start and asked the opponent to decide the winner by rock-paper-scissors. Due to this ladder abuse, he received a warning from GOMTV as well as a ban from the first team league event. Choya later apologized.[2]

Global StarCraft II League[edit]

GSL Open Seasons[edit]

Choya was able to qualify for the GSL Open Season 2 but was immediately eliminated by Rain. He qualified again for the third season and caused a major upset as he ended up taking out Mvp with a 2-0 in the Round of 16 which guaranteed him code S status for next season. In the quarterfinals he met with Jinro and lost in a close 2-3 series.

Code S[edit]

In GSL January, Choya made a strong run to the Round of 8 before being swept 0-3 by NesTea. For GSL March, Choya finished last in his group stage sending him to the up and down matches where he was ousted from Code S by HuK.

Code A[edit]

Choya lost in the opening round of 32 in GSL May to KeeN, and was knocked out of code A.

Global StarCraft II Team League[edit]

2011 GSTL May[edit]

On May 18, 2011, for the 2011 GSTL May, fOu sent out Choya as their second player against SlayerS. The score was tied at 1-1 for both teams at that point. He wasn't able to take out SlayerS' GanZi and allowed SlayerS to take the lead at 2-1.

2011 GSTL Season 1[edit]

On July 15, 2011, for the 2011 GSTL Season 1 Group B, fOu sent out Choya as their second player against FXO. The score was currently in favor for fOu at 3-1 at that point. Choya took out qxc and grabbed the victor for fOu by a score of 4-1.

On September 2, 2011, for the 2011 GSTL Season 1 Group B, fOu sent out Choya as their third player against ST. The score was currently in favor for ST at 2-1 at that point. He wasn't able to take out ST's Curious and allowed ST to take the lead at 3-1.

2012 GSTL Season 1[edit]

On January 27, 2012, for the 2011 GSTL Season 1 Group A, FXO sent out Choya as their starting player against SlayerS. He wasn't able to take out SlayerS' CranK and allowed SlayerS to take the lead at 1-0.

On February 17, 2012, for the 2011 GSTL Season 1 Group A, FXO sent out Choya as their second player against MVP. The score was currently in favor for MVP at 1-0 at the point. Choya took out KeeN and tied up the score at 1-1. MVP sent out Monster next and Choya wasn't able to defeat him. Choya's loss allowed MVP to take the lead at 2-1.

On March 17, 2012, for the 2011 GSTL Season 1 Group A, FXO sent out Choya as their third player against SlayerS. The score was currently tied at 2-2 at the point. Choya took out Ryung and MMA and allowed FXO to take the lead at 4-2. SlayerS sent out CranK next and Choya wasn't able to defeat him. Choya's loss lessened FXO's lead to 4-3.

On March 23, 2012, for the 2011 GSTL Season 1 Group A, FXO sent out Choya as their starting player against oGsTL. Choya took out InCa and allowed FXO to take the lead at 1-0. oGsTL sent out ForGG next and Choya wasn't able to defeat him. Choya's loss allowed oGsTL to tie up the score at 1-1.

On April 1, 2012, for the 2011 GSTL Season 1 Playoffs, FXO sent out Choya as their fourth player against Prime. The score was currently in favor for Prime at 3-2 at that point. He wasn't able to take out Prime's ByuN and allowed Prime to further their lead to 4-2.

Korean StarCraft II League[edit]

On December 12, 2011, Choya participated in the KSL Daily Week 3 Day 1. Choya started off from the quarterfinals. Choya took down Noblesse and TOP in order to advance to the finals. In the finals, Choya defeated LosirA by a score of 2-1 and grabbed first place.

Outside Korea[edit]

FXOBoSs, the FXO team leader, announced he would be sending Choya to MLG Anaheim as a gesture of appreciation.[3] There, he went through the upper bracket of the open bracket beating the likes of OpTiKzErO and Jinro before being stopped by Tyler in the final round, giving him a spot in the lower bracket of the championship bracket, where he beat ToD before falling to iNcontroL.

It was announced on August 10, 2011 that Choya, along with his teammate TheBest would be going to MLG Raleigh.[4]

On September 20, 2012 Choya took out four members of CompLexity in IGN Pro Team League. He defeated TriMaster, ryze, Heart, and qxc before Killer prevented the all-kill.

Heart of the Swarm[edit]

After fOu disbanded in late 2013, Choya joined Prime as a player-coach, largely focusing on the coaching side of things.

Choya's only notable result in Heart of the Swarm was in 2014 at GSL Season 2 where he placed in the Ro48 of Code A. He placed last in his group consisting of SuperNova, TRUE and TY. He went 1-4 in maps against TY and TRUE only taking a map off of TRUE.
