About[edit]

Copenhagen Games is the biggest gaming event held in Denmark every year. In 2015, the event will hold professional esports tournaments in StarCraft II: Heart Of the Swarm, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (men and women), League of Legends, Hearthstone and FIFA 2015.

The event takes place at the Øksnehallen in Copenhagen and as in 2014, the StarCraft II tournament is a WCS Tier 3 event with 1,800 points and a $10,000 prize pool.

Format[edit]

Stage 1:

  • Round-robin format
  • All matches are best of three
  • Top 2 players of each group advance to Stage 2

Stage 2:

  • 32 players divided in 8 groups of 4 players each and played in a dual tournament format
    • 16 players from the qualifier
    • 16 players from Stage 1
  • All matches are best of three
  • Top 2 players of each group advance to Stage 3

Stage 3:

  • 16 players divided in 8 groups of 4 players each and played in a dual tournament format
  • All matches are best of three
  • Top 2 players of each group advance to the Playoffs

Playoffs:

  • 8 players in a single-elimination bracket
  • Quarterfinals are best of three
  • Semifinals are best of five
  • Finals are best of seven
