Grand Finals[edit]
The finalists from each of the four brackets, 8 players in total, will get a seed into the finals which will be played on June 1st 2013. At the event they’ll play through an 8-player double elimination bracket to decide who will be the first DSCL winner!
The individual league has 3 stages, the first of which consists of 12 online qualifiers which are held from January through March 2013. These are single-evening (or afternoon) events, where players duke it out in a single-elimination bracket. Every time a player participates in a qualifier, he/she gets qualification points – the further the player get the more points he/she gets. The two finalists of each qualifier get rewarded with a direct seed into the main tournament.
A total of 64 players will qualify for the Main Tournament (played in April and May). Among these are the top-two finishers from every single qualifier (24 players), while the remaining 40 slots are given to the top players in the point rankings.
The 64 players in the Main Tournament will be divided into four separate 16-player double-elimination brackets. These brackets will be played, one round per week (combining upper and lower bracket into a single round where possible), until there are only 8 players left (the top 2 from each bracket). These players qualify for the Grand Finals, with the winner of each bracket gaining favorable seeding. The DSCL Individual League end with the Grand Finals, a live event where the top 8 players will play through a double-elimination bracket.
