The DSCL Open is the flagship among the tournaments hosted by the Dutch StarCraft League. The prize pool is €1,000 and the finals will take place at an offline event in the Netherlands.
Tournament Information[edit]
Format[edit]
The DSCL Open has 3 stages.
The first stage consists of 5 online qualifiers which are held in September and October of 2016. These are single-evening events, played in single-elimination format. The top 2 of each qualifier are seeded into the main tournament. The remaining 6 seeds are given to previous events winners Harstem and uThermal, and to the top-4 players of the Crafting Stars Series Finals.
A total of 16 players play in the Main Tournament in October and are divided into four separate 4-player groups. These groups will be played in GSL-style, with the top 2 of each group advancing to the offline finals, where the winner will be decided in front of a live audience.
At the Finals Event, to be held on December 3rd at the Dutchrank E-sports Championships, players will once again be split into 2 GSL-style groups of 4, with the top 2 of each group advancing: the remaining 4 players enter the single-elimination playoffs featuring best-of-five semi-finals and best-of-seven finals.
