Event Overview[edit]
The competitive section of DreamHack consists of a BYOC qualifier to the main tournament, as well as two BYOC tournaments with a 6,000SEK prize. The main event is a Group Stage + Playoffs 1v1 tournament with 48 players decided by past events, qualifiers, and invites determined by DreamHack selection. This article focuses mainly on the main tournament.
The main tournament will include 48 players placed in 8 groups with 6 players in each group. Two players will be qualified in DreamHacks partners’ qualifications around Europe and another two will qualify on spot in the BYOC qualifier at DreamHack Summer 2011. The BYOC qualifier will be a double-elimination bracket with the two finalists getting a spot in the main tournament. In the group stage all players face each other and the top two players of each group advance to the playoffs. The playoffs will be a 16 man single-elimination bracket to determine the winner.
All matches will be BO3 and the final will be BO5.

Invites[edit]
* DeMusliM, FruitDealer, Nada, InCa, MarineKing, anypro, Stephano and TLO were invited but will not participate due to various reasons.
Qualifiers[edit]
The Qualifier is a 128-player Double-elimination tournament played on the first day of the event with its two finalists being seeded into the Main Tournament. Due to technical difficulties the qualifier was delayed for several hours and was eventually played throughout the whole night. SarenS won the Winner-Bracket and decided to forfeit the final match in favor of sleeping. Osho ended up clinching the second spot at 7:30am, only a few hours before his Group Stage play began.
