IEM Season XII - Shanghai is the first event of IEM Season XII which hosts a StarCraft II Tournament, organized by ESL and held in Shanghai, China.

Format[edit]

Qualifiers[edit]

  • Chinese Qualifiers:
    • 2 slots available.
    • All matches are Bo3.
    • June 22nd - Chinese Qualifier Day 1, Open stage: single-elimination bracket with four players advancing to the closed Chinese Qualifier.
    • June 23rd - Chinese Qualifier Day 2, Final stage: Closed double-elimination bracket with two players advancing to Main Event.
  • Global Qualifiers:
    • 10 slots available
    • June 27th - Global Qualifier Day 1, Open stage: single-elimination bracket with eight players advancing to the closed Global Qualifier.
    • June 28th - Global Qualifier Day 2, Open stage: single-elimination bracket with eight players advancing to the closed Global Qualifier.
    • June 29th - Global Qualifier Day 3, Final stage: 16 WCS invited players join the 16 advancing players from Day 1 and Day 2 with ten players advancing to Main Even: double-elimination bracket with tie-breakers among the 9th-12th places for the 9th and 10th spot.
