Miguel "MikOeL" López Flotats is a professional StarCraft II, and former Brood War player from Barcelona, Spain. He was one of the founders and the longest-staying player in team Aprender.
Miguel was born in Barcelona 27 January 1987. In 1998, when he was 12 years old, he started playing StarCraft: Brood War. Despite being very young, he didn't go unnoticed, and he became recognized as Spain's best player in the summer of 1999, a title he kept until retiring from the game, in late 2010.[Citation needed]
This title and an A+ classification on the ICCUP server did not suffice to give him international recognition, as he did not participate in international tournaments, due to a lack of time. In Spanish tournaments, he did well as he won every one he played in. He gained some recognition after getting in the Qualifiers stage of the Poker Strategy Team Liquid Starleague in 2009. He lost against the Canadian player XiaOzI. He lost 1-2, being all-ined in the last 2 games and while being sick.
Despite thinking that StarCraft II wasn't a complex game, and saying he didn't want to play an easy game, he had to change his mind in July 2010, because he considered the European Brood War scene to be dead.
Wings of Liberty
He started playing StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty in July 2010. He quickly picked up on the mechanics of the game, and in August 2010 he joined the Spanish team Aprender.
