Overview[edit]

Monsoon is a 6 player map released with the SC2 Launch. It is intended for 3v3 play.

Official Map Description[edit]

Team play map. Your allies are nearby. There are expansion locations to secure behind your base. One path of assault connects the north and south.

Notable Features[edit]

  • The 10, 8, 2, and 4 o'clock bases have two ramps, one in the front, and then another in the rear leading to the natural expansions.
  • The bases 12 and 6 o'clock have three ramps, one in the front, and two leading to the naturals behind the mains (While a wall-in will slow early aggression down, it can be avoiding if other players on your team do not wall-in, or defend their forward facing main entrance. A wall in at each main will also protect the naturals, due to the fact that they are placed behind the main, instead of in front as on most maps).
  • The map lacks Xel'Naga vision towers.
  • Gold expansions are difficult to protect from higher ground ranged attacks.
  • The middle path of assault contains high grass on either side, making it possible to hide oncoming attacks if proper vision isn't available.
  • Little air-space is found behind the mineral lines, insinuating less favor for harassing air units.
