About[edit]

NorCraft Cup Season 2 is an online Nordic StarCraft II league played in September - December 2014, which includes regional qualifiers in Finland. The Finnish qualifiers are organized in by StarCraft 2 Finland (starcraft2.fi), sponsored by Cooler Master and streamed on hitbox.tv.

Tournament Information[edit]

League Format[edit]

The Finnish qualifiers for NorCraft Cup Season 2 consists of four qualifier tournaments and the Finnish regional final tournament. The winners of each of the qualifier tournaments will get a direct spot in the Finnish regional final, which has a total of 16 players. The remaining 12 spots will be given according to qualifier points, which players can earn in the qualifiers. Finally, the top four players from the Finnish regional final will earn a spot in the season finals to play against the top four from Norway, Sweden and Denmark. The league is played entirely online.

Tournament Format[edit]

The tournament will consist of a WCS-style, double elimination group stage and single elimination playoffs.

Group stage:

The 4 players of each group are split into two pairs and play against each other.
The winners of these matches will then face each other in the Winner’s match.

The victor places first in the group and advances to the next round.

The losers of the initial matches face each other in the Loser’s match.

The loser places fourth in the group, will drop out of the tournament.

The loser of the Winner’s match and the winner of the Loser’s match will face each other in a fifth match.

The winner gets second place in the group and advances to the next round.
The loser places third in the group and will drop out of the tournament.

Playoffs

Playoff matches start from round-of-8 and are best-of-3 except for the final which is a best-of-5 match.
The third place match is played.
