Dan "Phamut" McDonald is a retired 22-year-old British Zerg player.

Wings of Liberty[edit]

Phamut had his break in the competitive UK scene in May 2012 at Multiplay UK i45. Here, he progressed from his group and all the way to a RO8 meet against BlinG without dropping a map. BlinG beat him 2-0, and he met JonnyREcco in the Loser's Bracket who also beat him 2-0.

His impressive performance at Multiplay UK i45 was immediately followed up by his appearance at the World Championship Series UK National Finals. Having been seeded 4th, he beat Simba and rANDY before falling to eventual champion Ziktomini. He finished joint 5th overall after losing to Ourk in the Lower Bracket.

Phamut's performances at Multiplay UK i45 and the World Championship Series UK National Finals led to him being picked up by Visualize your Enmity, in a new-look roster that included fellow WCS finalists Ourk, DeMoN and his good friend AndyPandy.

At Multiplay UK i46, Phamut finished in the Top 16 after losing to Shibbxyz and rANDY. At Multiplay UK i47, he was denied the chance to compete in the Championship Bracket after losing to DreAm in the RO8 at the BYOC Qualifier.

After Visualize your Enmity disbanded, Phamut became Team Captain of Roar Gaming.

Trivia[edit]

  • Despite bragging about his pace over 100m, he was surprisingly - yet comfortably - beaten over that distance by Ourk at i46.[Citation needed]
  • Phamut remains a huge fan of Red Alert 2, the first real-time-strategy game that he loved.[Citation needed]
  • He is respected in the StarCraft II community for his warm personality, and at the World Championship Series UK National Finals, Artosis said live on stream: "Phamut seems to be the nicest guy ever, like people talk about Sheth man, but I think Phamut has outclassed him". [Citation needed]
