Tournament Format[edit]

1v1, Single-elimination, Tournament participation can vary from 32 all the way to over 64, registration comes on a first-come, first-served basis, although if the tournament fills up fast the brackets are usually opened e.g. from 32 to 64. Best-of-1s till semi finals stage, then best-of-3s. If both finalist agree to it the Grand Final can be a Best-of-5.

Trivia[edit]

  • Australia Terran YoonYJ has won the most COs with a grand total of 6 (CO#17, CO#26, CO#28, CO#43 and CO#47, CO#53).
  • Australia Terran Rossi (CO#25, CO#27, CO#29,CO#35 and CO#38) and Thailand Terran RedArchon (CO#5, CO#10, CO#15,CO#16 and CO#45) are both 5-time winners of the SC2SEA CO
  • Thailand Terran RedArchon (CO#15 and CO#16), Australia Protoss Light (CO#19, CO#20) and South Korea yChSPR (CO#30 and CO#31) are the only players who have won the tournament back-to-back.
  • Australia Zerg mOOnGLaDe offraced as Terran under the moniker of "Kashimashi" and took second place in CO#2.
  • Australia KiNGJessE is the only player who has won the tournament playing random (#8). He was also placed second in CO#4.
  • On 23 November 2011, Australia Zerg MaFia broke his CO curse (C0 #46) he's the only player to come 2nd in back-to-back Community Opens (CO#44 and CO#45), and the only player to make the finals in 3 consecutive Tournaments (CO#44, CO#45, CO#46).
  • Australia Zerg PiG (CO#12, CO#17, CO#22, CO#48, CO#52) and Australia Zerg MaFia (CO#21, CO#24, CO#44, CO#45 and CO#54) holds the record for most 2nd places with 5.
  • There was a 3-month hiatus between CO#53 and CO#54 so admins could focus on SEACL Season 2, SEACC and Frog Cup.
