8th TEAM[edit]
Can someone move this to "8th TEAM" because this is what GOM, KeSPA, etc. refers to the team as. Even ingame they go as EighthTeam.--Shadow Dog 05:55, 29 December 2012 (KST)
Here is even Korean wikipedia article that Koreans made that references to it as "8th Team".--Shadow Dog 06:29, 3 January 2013 (KST)
- The issue here is that all casters, all English language resources refer to it as Team 8. Rather than 8th TEAM. Even the casters during the SPL casts says "team eight". I'm okay with creating a redirect etc but I think the team should still be mainly referenced as Team 8 on Liquipedia. — salle - Head of Liquipedia (t, c) 01:55, 31 January 2013 (KST)
- Eigth Team seems to be the correct version, so we should that. It is annoying to pronounce it, but that seems to be the correct one. shz, Liquipedia Staff (Talk to me) 02:10, 31 January 2013 (KST)
- I think this picture ( http://i.imgur.com/DuEEqBJ.png ) from the official english twitch.tv site can be used as the source. I am for moving it to 8th Team. --DiMano 02:30, 31 January 2013 (KST)
- Whiplash and SNM refer to it as Team 8 because they're mentally retarded. It is 8th Team, no matter what idiots call it. Gorribal 15:22, 12 June 2013 (KST)
- Also the reason a lot of English speakers call it Team 8 is because of Liquipedia and hearing it on SPL, etc. It's a snowball effect, the more people hear the wrong name the more people call it that way. Gorribal 13:28, 13 June 2013 (KST)
- Next time, please refrain from calling people mentally retarded when they are not on Liquipedia talk pages, your opinion about these casters has nothing to do with this discussion. Saying "Team 8" instead of "8th Team" is not the end of the world. To remain on topic, I'm not against the move, since it seems to be the official name. – ChapatiyaqPTSM (talk) 07:44, 15 June 2013 (KST)
- Yes sorry I got a little ahead of myself there. Gorribal 07:50, 15 June 2013 (KST)

So I took it upon myself to do the move, especially since the GOMTV website refers to savage as 8th team's Savage. Anyway, I'm a little new to this so my move may need a little cleanup, and I just ask that you bear with me and help out with whatever pages I've forgotten about. Gorribal 07:40, 15 June 2013 (KST)
Jing Air Green Wings[edit]
I'm all for moving this to Jin Air Green Wings, but a little busy right now so whoever wants to do it is free to. Gorribal 17:12, 10 July 2013 (KST)
- We are discussing it on TL, so don't move anything for the moment. --capistonblah 17:32, 10 July 2013 (KST)
- You who? And where? And why not discuss it here? Gorribal 19:12, 10 July 2013 (KST)
- We, contributors who have access to Liquipedia forum. Why there ? because the discussion starts before apparently... --capistonblah 19:26, 10 July 2013 (KST)
- Wut, I don't have access to that forum and I have the bronze contribution :( That's not fair being excluded like that Gorribal 23:23, 10 July 2013 (KST)
- Soon... You need a silver coin to access this forum. --capistonblah 23:33, 10 July 2013 (KST)
- I don't think this page should be moved, just create a new page for the new team (which I think has been already done). It's essentially a new team. --Shadow Dog 01:12, 11 July 2013 (KST)
- I agree with Shadow Dog, The 8th team has its own history and this change should represent a new start for them with their own record and their own history under the new sponsor and new name. --Ry2D2 15:25, 11 July 2013 (KST)
- Good point, but when teams like KT Rolster changed from KTF MagicNs there wasn't a new page. Maybe you're on the right track though, due to the fact that this is their first corporate sponsor. --Oberkapo
- And then what? We say, for previous history, go to 8th Team? Gorribal 14:47, 11 July 2013 (KST)
- I suggest that: User:Capiston/sandbox4 (approximately). I think making 2 pages complicate everything, as Gorribal sayd. If we make things clear, I don't see any problem.. --capistonblah 18:41, 11 July 2013 (KST)
- That seems to work great and I think it's fine. I think that'll please everyone. Gorribal 20:48, 11 July 2013 (KST)

SoSPA BW Players[edit]
Would it be fine to put players like hero and Sea as "Playing BW" on their new team? I think it more accurately reflects their status. Gorribal 17:19, 12 July 2013 (KST)
- The "Former" table does not display the current status of these players, it displays the status they had when leaving the team. If the transition to a new team is immediate, or takes only a few weeks, we put the new team. When Sea left 8th Team, it was to play StarCraft II for TeamLiquid, so his New Team should still be Team Liquid. As for hero, I don't know if the went to play Brood War directly after. If he did, we can put "Retired to play BW". – ChapatiyaqPTSM (talk) 17:35, 12 July 2013 (KST)
