Team Empire is one of the premier teams in Russia and the CIS across all eSport titles. The organization was established in 2004 with headquarters in Moscow.
Team Empire is known as one of Russia's largest and best known gaming organizations, particularly for their teams and players in StarCraft II, League of Legends, Dota 2, Hearthstone, and Call of Duty amongst many other titles.
Their StarCraft II division was founded in November 2010 with names such as Kas, NaNiwa, Bly, Forsen, ho8ot, Aristeo and Cubert amongst others.[1] Initially, the team focused on players from Russian-speaking countries, with a few European high profile players like NaNiwa and Nerchio. In order to further their competitive goals, Team Empire expanded their horizons and acquired Koreans players viOLet and VINES in 2012, but eventually went back to their Russian roots.
The team placed particular focus on team leagues, and in late 2013, when their roster was reduced to three core players, they entered into a team partnership with the Finnish team Ence eSports to form Empire-Ence with players such as elfi, Serral and the teamless Brat_OK, but this partnership was ultimately dissolved after successive defeats in the ESL Euro Series.
Despite its international aspirations, Team Empire maintains a strong commitment with the CIS scene by establishing the Team Empire Academy for StarCraft II, made up solely of Russian-speaking players.

- January 6th, The Empire.Academy is reduced to five players.[2]
- March 12, The Academy again changes their lineup, adding Easy and MrKillous, whilst dropping Huffy.[3]
- May 7, Team Empire and Kas part ways.[4]
- June 8, Easy is promoted from the Academy to the Main Squad.[5]
- October 13, Team Empire closes its StarCraft II squad.[6]
- January 8, Siw rejoins the team, which needed an additional player in order to participate in upcoming team leagues. TheMista is reported to have been removed from the roster, while Aristeo is inactive.[7][8]
- June 28, Beastyqt leaves the team.[9]
- July 16, Brat_OK is released due to lack of results, whilst the inactive Aristeo retires.[10]
- August 1st, Empire announce a collaboration with the Finnish team Ence eSports for team leagues, adding elfi, Jagelius and Serral to the roster of Empire-Ence.[11]
- August 13th, Siw announces his retirement.[12]
- October, The Empire.Academy is launched with 11 players: RusZerg, Lost, Marador, Huffy, uThermal, Koldun, jinbojeog, Volt, Haidarovic, Casper and Doomer.
- January 10, Forsen and Beastyqt join Team Empire, while Bly leaves it and Noname goes inactive.[20]
- January 10, DieStar leaves to join Millenium.[21]
- January 20, NaNiwa leaves Team Empire and joins Team Dignitas.[22]
- January 21, Forsen leaves Team Empire.[23]
- January 25, Bly and KroLu join.[24]
- February 2, LESTER leaves Team Empire.[25]
- March 30, Team Empire is invited to participate in the SC2CL Season 2 Master Division[26]
- March 31, Happy joins Team Empire, while Bly and OutSide leave, and Cubert goes inactive.[27]
- April 3rd, Nerchio joins.[28]
- July 7, Team Empire wins the SC2CL Season 2 Master Division.
- July 20, Nerchio leaves Team Empire for Team Acer.[29]
- August 1, Team Empire is invited to Evil Geniuses Master's Cup Series VI. Cubert puts an end to his inactive period in order to play the 2v2 matches alongside Aristeo.
- August 2, Siw joins Team Empire.[30]
- September 15, Team Empire finishes second in the incredible Panic Team League Season 2.
- September 18, frum and Noname leave the team, while AsitY, a former Team Empire player, rejoins the team and is appointed coach.[31]
- November 23, Welmu joins the team, while Siw becomes inactive for an indefinite period.[32]
