The Safety Net is a tournament organized and casted by BaseTradeTV. It is intended for the players that did not qualify for the 2015 WCS Season 1 and only those players are eligible to play the qualifiers.

Format

  • Qualifiers
    • 2 qualifiers per region (North America and Europe)
      • NA Qualifier #1 - Thursday, Jan 22 15:15 PST
      • NA Qualifier #2 - Monday, Jan 26 16:00 PST
      • EU Qualifier #1 - Sunday, Jan 25 18:00 CET
      • EU Qualifier #2 - Monday, Jan 26 18:00 CET
    • Top 2 players of each qualifier are qualified
  • Group Stage
    • 16 players in four groups of 4 players each played in double-elimination format
    • 2 groups per region
    • Matches are best of three
    • Top 2 players of each group advance to the playoffs
  • Playoffs
    • 8 players in a single-elimination bracket
    • Quarterfinals and Semifinals are best of five
    • Third place match is best of three
    • Finals are best of seven
