KeSPA Participation[edit]

  • 23 players from KeSPA (as well as 9 non-KeSPA players) were originally invited to play in this qualifier. As a result of problems with past Chinese tournaments, KeSPA had decided upon a policy of not taking requests for their players to participate in tournaments in China unless the tournament is recognized by the China General Sports Administration. Since WEC is not recognized by that body, KeSPA told all its players to cancel their participation in the qualifier.[1] Those players were partially replaced by new ones and the number of participants was reduced from 32 to 19.
