Badlands is a 5CP map and remake of the classic map CTF_Badlands from Team Fortress Classic. When being made for Team Fortress 2, the map changed from a Capture the Flag Map to a Symmetric Control Point Map and a Capture the Flag Map (for casual players). Now consists of a central control point lying on the bridge, two symmetrically located spires for both team sides, and two indoor, 2Fort like final control points for either team.
The map is currently the oldest map to be used competitively and was marked "the crown of 5CP", but as more and more players gained experience and knowledge about Team Fortress 2 and Badlands in general, the map became dethroned as "the worst 5CP map" by the community. It lost it's popularity due to the final control points being difficult for players to push in and to push out and choke-points were too narrow to be manipulated against the opposing team.
Prolands is a map that was first created by Team Fortress 2 player, Collaide. The map, created for the competitive community, featured small features that would make the map more convenient to its players; such as spawn timer alterations and improvements to clipping and hiding spots.
