First Strike will be the first tournament series to crown regional champions for VALORANT organized by Riot Games. The official announcement happened on September 23rd with a blog post and introduction video. [1][2]

Format[edit]

Qualifiers[edit]

  • Regional qualifiers will begin in the second half of October.

Finals[edit]

  • The event will conclude with multiple regional finals that will occur from December 3rd to the 6th.

Player Eligibility[edit]

In order to attend the qualifiers a player must fullfil the following conditions:

  • Be sixteen (16) or above
  • Rank Immortal 1 or higher

Broadcast and Game Improvements[edit]

During the introduction video, John Needham, Global Head of Esports, has mentioned Riot will be investing in broadcast capabilities and develop new and innovative ways for viewers to engage with. Additionally, they will also grow their teams while partnering with leading experts within the broadcasting field.

Whalen Rozelle, Senior Director of Global Esports, has also mentioned they are shipping much needed observer tool updates as well as a round reset feature prior to the event commence to help competitive integrity. [2]
