Koji "Laz" Ushida (born November 26, 1995) is a Japanese streamer who is currently working for ZETA DIVISION as a streamer.

Biography[edit]

Early life[edit]

Koji "Laz" Ushida was born in Yokohama, Japan and grew up in Tokyo. He got into playing first person shooting games when he was in junior high school, after his friends has invited him to play. Eventually the Counter-Strike series including Counter-Strike: Global Offensive drew his attention, where he found his confidence in his skills, before he started receiving invitation to teams and started to play in tournaments.

Professional Counter Strike Career (2015-2020)[edit]

Laz spent most of his time during his CS:GO career with Absolute. He joined the team in the early days of the team and played under multiple names and organizations such as Rascal Jester Absolute and SCARZ Absolute. One of his notable achievements in CS:GO was the top 8 finish at WESG 2018. Absolute was dominating Japan at the time, however the competitive CS:GO has been declining rapidly in his region and he suffered the disparity in the quality of their practice environment compare to the top teams in Asia and the rest of the world. Professional VALORANT Career (2020-2024)[edit]

Laz and Absolute announced their transition to VALORANT on March 2, 2020, the same day VALORANT was announced. On April, 2020, Absolute announced their contract with JUPITER and their new team name: Absolute JUPITER. Since the early days of VALORANT he has achieved excellence and proved himself as one of the best Japanese players. Although they have lost their throne during the 2021 season, right after the rebranding of JUPITER to ZETA DIVISION Laz reclaimed his title as the Japanese champion at the Stage 3 Challengers. However, after a poor showing at the Masters Berlin, ZETA decided to reorganize. Following the roster change Laz has parted ways with his old teammates from Absolute, but he continues to lead the renewed ZETA DIVISION as the team captain.
