Blight

From Liquipedia Warcraft Wiki

Blight is a corrupting influence that turns the land under an Undead settlement to rotted soil.

Effects[edit]

Summoning Buildings[edit]

Most Undead buildings must be summoned on blight. Only two buildings can be summoned on normal land: the Necropolis and a Haunted Gold Mine. Once completed, these buildings generate a radius of blight, upon which subsequent Undead buildings can be summoned. Each additional building you summon extends the radius of blight further.

Other races can build buildings over blight without any negative consequences.

Health Regeneration[edit]

The standard (non Hero) Undead units only regenerate hit points while on the blight. Off the blight they do not regenerate, neither in the daytime nor at night. Undead heroes' health regeneration is increased on blight.

Creation and Removal[edit]

Creation[edit]

Use the Sacrificial Skull to generate blight

Undead buildings (other than a Haunted Gold Mine) generate or increase the radius of blight. Undead's Main Buildings generate way more blight than other Undead buildings.

Blight Growth Small
Cast Type : Passive
Target Type : No Target
Creates Blight around the building once it finishes construction.
Area of Effect : 768
Blight Growth Large
Cast Type : Passive
Target Type : No Target
Creates Blight around the building once it finishes construction.
Area of Effect : 960

Undead can also buy the Sacrificial Skull from their Tomb of Relics to generate a small radius of blight somewhere on the map. This is useful to fast expand (and protect the expansion by building towers).

Removal[edit]

Blight can be dispelled once the building that generated it has been destroyed or unsummoned. As blight is not targetable only area of effect dispel abilities can remove it, for example Wisp's Detonate.

Non-Undead buildings also have a special ability to dispel blight. Only blight that was created by buildings and has no source buildings nearby can be removed with this ability though.

Blight Dispel Small
Cast Type : Passive
Target Type : No Target
Removes nearby Blight once the building finishes construction.
Area of Effect : 768
Notes : Only blight that was created by buildings and has no source buildings nearby can be removed with this ability.

Area of Effect : 960
Notes : Only blight that was created by buildings and has no source buildings nearby can be removed with this ability.
