While in Storm Crow form Druids of the Talon are great anti air units. They can also act as support units casting Faerie Fire and are harder to kill than on the ground.

Although the Druid of the Talon in Storm Crow form has the unarmored armor type, he still has armor.

Strategy[edit]

The Storm Crow form is rarely used, as the Ancient of Wind also traines Hippogryphs, which are superior in all aspects against air units, so players rather train Hippogryphs, if they want to counter air.
If a player already has a lot of Talons, it is unlikely for the enemy to go into air units, so Talons can rarely be used against air units.
Storm Crow form is mostly used for increased mobility and to save Talons.

Notes

Faerie Fire is a very good spell to use against units like Grunts or Tauren which are difficult to kill because of their armor. It is also good to use against Heroes. If the Druids of the Talon are not automatically casting Faerie Fire on the right enemy unit, cast it yourself manually. For example if you want Faerie Fire on an enemy Hero but the Druids of the Talon are not automatically targeting that hero, cast it yourself.

Research Mark of the Talon so that you can use Faerie Fire while in Storm Crow Form.

1.10 Neutral Flying Unit Improvements: We have turned off collision detection for flying units so that they can now easily pass through each other. This will allow air units to move about more smoothly than before. We have also added "separation behavior" so air units will break out of clusters once they reach a destination.
Neutral When "attack-moving", air units now prefer to attack other air units more often than previously.
