The enchanted Dryads are the daughters of the Night Elf demigod, Cenarius. The playful, frolicking creatures vaguely resemble centaurs (their cursed cousins), but have bodies more akin to woodland fauns. They are swift and sure and are at peace with all of the children of the forest. Though they abhor unnecessary violence, the Dryads will defend the wildlands of Kalimdor with their lives if need be.
Strategy[edit]
Dryads are very versatile and useful units. They are used in many strategies such as the famous Dryad Bear strategy. Their spell immunity gives Dryads a big advantage over Archers, that can be countered by area of effect abilities. Because of this Dryads most of the times replace Archers as ranged units in the mid game. Their high mobility and slow poison ability grant a lot of map control.
Dryads are the perfect counter against air units with Magic damage like Chimaeras, Frost Wyrms and Gryphons. That being said, dryads have Unarmored armor type which means they die very quickly if they are focused by ranged units like Riflemen and Troll Headhunters. Also, even though dryads are very cheap to produce, they take up 3 food and give the same amount of experience as other 3-food units. When using dryads, you want to pick your fights carefully and make sure to avoid a direct head-to-head fight with an enemy who has a lot of ranged units. If you have to take such a fight, make sure you have Druid of the Claws and/or Mountain Giants in the frontline to tank for your dryads.
