Only opportunity for american players to compete at GCS 2018 Summer : the first part of the most important individual tournament in 2018 with one the biggest prize pool.
There is a single slot, so players have to win to qualifiy. It's played on Battle.net US-east-servers : Azeroth.

Format[edit]
The tournament progress according to the following rules[1].
Qualifier[edit]
- 4 players are invited.
- 4 players qualify via American Open Qualifier #1.
Playoffs[edit]
Playoffs consist in a double elimination bracket within invited players face qualified players :
- earlier rounds are best-of-three,
- grand final is best-of-five.
- semi-final losers are crossed into losers' round 2.
Conclusion[edit]
- Winner earns a spot for GCS Summer2018.
