Maps are monumental part of competitive Warcraft III matchups, strategy, and balance.
It is important to note that most commonly used Tournament maps have a 2-letter abbreviation used by players when listing or discussing maps (e.g. AI for Ancient Isles, AZ for Amazonia, EI for Echo Isles, etc).
